If someone were to ask you if you were 100% happy with where you are in life and what you have achieved so far- would you be able to answer with an unwavering “HELL YEAH!”? My guess is very few people would. And half of the ones that did would be lying. While doing research studies for my new business, only half of the people I surveyed admitted that they weren’t happy with where they currently are in life. And of the half that did claim they were happy, almost every single one of the said they are still seeking MORE.
So what does it actually take to live life on your terms and be completely happy with what your doing, feeling and saying on a daily basis. I’ll tell you right now, it’s not easy and that’s why so few people achieve this level of success. My question is why? Why do so many people FEAR living the life of their dreams? Your dreams should motivate you daily to be better, learn more and do more.
The problem is that most people are surrounded by people who are content with living their mundane and boring lives. Those people will bring you down, belittle your dreams and laugh at your passions. My advice. Run. Fast. If you hang out with chickens, you’re going to cluck, but if you hang out with eagles, you’re going to FLY.
Surround yourself with other passionate and business minded people. Trust me, you will find more support in passionate people you hardly know than family and friends you’ve known for a lifetime. Pretty disheartening isn’t it? But it’s life and if you’re ready to live it, then there are certain things you’ll have to come to terms with. This is one of them.
Dr. John DeMartini says “when the voice and the vision on the inside become more profound, clear and loud than the opinions on the outside, you’ve mastered your life.” Wow. Couldn’t have explained it better myself, and well, how could I? I’m no doctor, but I am a visionary and my life experiences have put me at the top of my game. Instead of falling prey to “victim” status, I’ve chosen to rise above, each and every single time life handed me a shit sandwich.
Maybe this is partly because I knew half of the shit I’d been dealt was of my own doing. I went through a lot of heartache since my teenage years, and undoubtedly a lot of it was probably unnecessary pain that I put myself my own self through. I used to be focused on insecurities rather than focusing on the solutions. Once I learned how to flip that script, my entire life changed. Sometimes, it takes being forced to your knees for your whole world and vision to make a dramatic shift.
Bottom line is we’re all self-made, but only successful people admit it. So choose the life you want to live and stand your ground. Lead with your heart and don’t let your dreams and passions waver over something or someone on the outside.
