This past Saturday, I had to pleasure of speaking on stage at Get Known, Get Clients Live in front of 200 ambitious entrepreneurs. This weekend was really game-changing. I love scrolling through my newsfeed and seeing people STILL raving about the event. It was truly an experience to remember. I solidified amazing friendships I previously only cultivated online. But best of all I got to connect with a lot of YOU. My tribe. The people that have been supporting me since day one and the people I live to inspire and teach. I got to meet, mix and mingle with my favorite industry idols, like Todd Herman, Ryan Lee, Ramit Sehti, Derek Halpern and more.

This weekend’s event was put together by the amazing Selena Soo and her incredible team. We started early in the morning with a surprise guest, Derek Halpern. Derek stepped in and saved the day when one of the confirmed guests canceled at the last minute.

It’s so amazing that Selena has connections this strong, that allowed her to get a (better, in my opinion) replacement in less than 24 hours.

Selena shared all of her secrets with us on just how she was able to cultivate relationships like the and get publicity not only for herself, but for her clients.

Next, Ryan Lee took the stage and he knocked it out of the park. Definitely the most memorable speaker of the day (besides me of course!). He shared with us the idea of character based marketing and how we can use our personalities and our stories to rise to the top.

After an amazing lunch with Selena, Derek, Ramit and Ryan, it was my turn to get on stage. I actually wasn’t nervous at all because Selena has such a way to shine a light on people’s biggest strengths.

On stage, I talked about confidence as an introvert, yes- I’m an introvert. Many people were surprised by this, but putting myself out there was a struggle in the beginning. One of the things I learned was that I had to get over myself in order to be successful and I had to be willing to get uncomfortable if I wanted to end up on top.

I talk about the mindset needed to succeed. I contribute at least 80% (if not more) of my success to having the right mindset. Once I flipped my thinking and started believing in myself, everything changed in my business (and life).

I talked about making Investments And taking personal responsibility for your life/business. People really resonated with this. I used to be the queen of excuses, but I learned very quickly that I was the only person in charge of my success or my failure.

When I got done, so many awesome people came up to me to thank me for the truth bombs I was dropping. They all loved it because I was being real, I was just sharing my story. And the story connected with many in the audience.

None of this would have been possible without my friend and mentor Selena Soo. Selena is a business + publicity strategist and has been helping many entrepreneurs get these kinds of opportunities. She’s has helped clients and colleagues land media appearances in Oprah Magazine, Forbes.com, Entrepreneur.com, FOX, and more.

Now, Selena’s going to pull back the curtain and show you how it’s done — in her brand new webinar: From “Best-Kept Secret” to Industry Leader: 3 Publicity Secrets to Multiply Your Revenue, Reach More People, and Change the World.
