Yes, I just made that word up, but I was so excited to see an “on this day” pop up in my Facebook newsfeed yesterday that reminded me of the day I finally quit my day job and went full time as an entrepreneur.

That was two years ago – on January 2, 2015. Since then, I’ve experienced epic leaps, massive growth, amazing opportunities, incredible relationships, tons of lessons, thousands of customers, hundreds of press features, generated over $1.5 million in revenue, and impacted lots of lives… especially my own.

But I’m always about sharing the FULL story, so it’s important for me to note here:

Almost a full year before that (February 2014) is when I got my first client- and that year was a struggle in business, with lots to learn, lots of failures and a lot of time trying to figure it out. (No, it did NOT happen over night!)

And a year before that (Jan. 2nd, 2013) is when I was laid off from my casino gig and “decided” I was going to work for myself. It took me almost a year to get over myself and actually take action towards my dreams because of fear, doubt, and insecurities. I also pushed through debt, divorce, depression and becoming a single mom in that year… all while “trying” to start a business.

I share this with you to remind you that it does not happen overnight, but once you clear the bullshit and become laser focused, success can happen really fast and results can be extraordinary!

I talk to so many people who are where I was in 2014 and I know their breakthrough is just around the corner. I remember feeling like, when is it going to be my turn? I would look at my bank account and cringe. Just as the money would come in, it was going right back out. At the time, I didn’t understand what was happening. To me, that year felt like a lifetime.

Now looking back, I realize that real success and building a long lasting sustainable business takes TIME. And it takes patience. If you are consistent, bring value and do you best, you WILL be successful. And you get to define what that success means to you.

Tomorrow, I am going to be sharing with you how I am able to have a thriving and successful business while working less and actually enjoying the process- because to me- that’s the definition of success.

Cheers to kicking some major biz booty in 2017!
